At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Willie Nelson took home the trophy for Best Country Album. A Beautiful Time triumphed against albums by Miranda Lambert (Palomino), Luke Combs (Growin’ Up),
Maren Morris (Humble Quest), and Ashley McBryde (Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville). Nelson was not there to receive his prize during the event.
A Beautiful Time was issued by Nelson in April 2022, which also happened to be his 89th birthday. Nelson won the 2022 Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance with the song “Live Forever” from the album, beating out tracks by Zach Bryan, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, and Kelsea Ballerini.
