On Wednesday night, Jae Crowder was sent from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a trade. On Thursday, it was reported that Crowder had been sent to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a different transaction.
“THE WORKING DAY HAS BEGUN!!!” Crowder, who attended Marquette University and played collegiate basketball there, wrote something on Twitter on Thursday. “I CAN’T WAIT TO BE IN MY OWN ROOM AGAIN!!”
This transaction was part of a larger deal involving many teams and featured the Indiana Pacers.
The Bucks will send three second-round selections to the Pacers and two second-round picks to the Nets (2028 and 2029), who will also get the draft rights to a guard named Juan Pablo Vaulet from the Pacers as part of this trade. In addition, the Bucks sent forward Jordan Nwora, guard George Hill, and center/forward Serge Ibaka, while the Nets sent monetary considerations. Indiana received all of these players from the Nets.
Crowder, who had agreed with the Suns to sit out while Phoenix explored trades for the veteran forward, was traded to the Nets on Wednesday night as part of the trade package sent by the Suns to the Nets in exchange for All-NBA forward Kevin Durant and T.J. Warren. Crowder hasn’t played this season because of the agreement he made with the Suns.

Crowder is in the final season of his contract, but he was facing a diminished role due to the emergence of forward Cameron Johnson. This is one of the many factors that may have contributed to Crowder’s request for a trade. Crowder’s request for a trade could also have been motivated by the fact that Crowder is in the final season of his contract.
In the 2011–12 season, when he played for Marquette and was named to the AP’s second team All-America, he had averages of 17.5 points and 8.4 rebounds in Milwaukee, which is where the city is located.
Crowder was an integral part of the Suns’ run to the NBA Finals in 2021, but the next season witnessed a modest decline in both his scoring and shooting stats as compared to the previous year.
The wing player is at 6 feet 6 inches tall and is well-known for his tenacious defense. He also has vast experience playing deep into the playoffs, having participated in over 100 playoff games and starting 86 of them for five different teams. His nine straight appearances in the playoffs have him tied for seventh place among current players with the longest active run.

This season, Nwora, who is 24 years old, is averaging 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 15.7 minutes played per game. Hill, who is 36 years old, is averaging 5.0 points and 2.5 assists in 19.1 minutes per game, but Ibaka, who is 33 years old and hasn’t played since January 1 of this year, is averaging 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 16 games played. Hill plays 19.1 minutes more per game than Ibaka.
