Michael Irvin’s behavior on Sunday, NFL Network decided to remove Irvin from its coverage of the week leading up to Super Bowl LVII and keep him off the air. Irvin is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
A representative for the NFL Network, Alex Riethmiller, announced in a statement that Michael Irvin will not be contributing to the network’s coverage in the week leading up to Super Bowl LVII.
On Wednesday, the specifics of the allegation that was made against Irvin were not revealed. On Monday, he was there to take part in the celebrations for Media Night.
Irvin, who is 56 years old, said in an interview with The Dallas Morning News that he had a short contact with the lady in the lobby of a hotel, during which they both shook hands.
Irvin was quoted in the newspaper as saying, “Honestly, I’m a little bewildered by it all.” “We were talking in the lobby for about a minute and a half when all of this took place. After I returned back after being out, I went into the lobby, where I was able to have a conversation with someone. This girl and I had a conversation. I just spoke to her for about half a minute, but I am not familiar with her.
“We made a handshake. After that, I decided to go… My knowledge stops there.”
Irvin said that he was unable to recall any other information.
Irvin said, “If I’m being really honest with you, I don’t really remember the talk.” “We were out drinking. It was nothing more than a casual chat amongst friends. “What’s going on?,” you ask. I have no idea.”
He said, “I am very bewildered by this.” “In all honesty, that’s all that transpired. There was no one in my room. We hardly spoke for about half a minute in the foyer before exchanging handshakes and leaving… I really have no idea. I have no idea what this is, and the fact that I don’t is driving me mad.”
