Senator Mitt Romney shown his complete disdain for Congressman George Santos by informing the lying representative from New York that Congressman Santos’s attendance at the event, in particular the seat in which he was seated, is evidence that he is dishonest.
When Romney entered the House Chambers, he was clearly irate, and he came face to face with Santos, who was beaming with happiness. Romney blasted Santos, telling him, “You don’t belong here,” and adding, “You ought to be humiliated.” Romney started his attack.
Santos seemed to be taken aback by the news, but he shrugged it off and then proceeded to try to shake hands with anybody who passed by.
On the House floor, Santos was one of the first people to arrive, and he quickly secured a seat close to the door through which the President enters the Chamber.
Following his address, Romney said to the press, “I didn’t think that he’d be standing there, attempting to shake hands with every senator and the President of the United States.” Romney was referring to Vice President Joe Biden.
In addition to this, Romney said that Santos “should be sitting in the back row and being quiet, rather than parading in front of the President and everybody going into the room.”
In addition to this, Romney stated that Santos would “hopefully” be removed from Congress after the House Ethics Committee finishes its investigation into the numerous lies that George told about his background, education, and charity work. Romney made this statement in reference to the fact that George lied about all of these things.
Santos is also the subject of multiple investigations at the federal and state levels, which are focusing on the possible violations of campaign finance laws he committed. In spite of the countless requests for him to resign, he has steadfastly refused to do so.
In the meanwhile, George made one more jab at Mitt, criticizing him for his loss to Barack Obama in the presidential election of 2012. He sent out the following tweet: “Hey @MittRomney just a reminder that you will NEVER be PRESIDENT!”
